Annabel Vose

20-year old Annabel Vose wants to learn as much as possible from the more knowledgeable off-shore members of the team. She is an experienced dinghy sailor and 420 World and European Champion, also successfully skippering a women’s match racing team to win the University World Championship last summer. She is studying Marine Engineering at the University of her hometown Southampton. She will be training with the all-female Class 40 and is very excited to compete in her first Fastnet this coming year.

What do you love most about sailing?

Sailing has introduced me to so many cool and amazing people, plus you are always learning.

What has sailing taught you?

Teaching me to work well in a team.

How do you spend your time when not sailing?

I love swimming and play hockey with a local team.

Who has inspired you the most?

Shirley Robertson; she took me aside when I was a young Oppie sailor and taught me how to hold my own in front of the boys.
