27 Oct Runners and Riders, Jumpers and Fallers… (More…)
We are sorry to say that Concise 8 has had to retire from the 2015 Transat Jacques Vabre.
Late last night the boat suffered hull damage and turned downwind to seek shelter in Ireland.
Jack and Gildas are now safely back on dry land in the port of Crosshaven. While hugely disappointed they plan to make the most of Irish hospitality before getting some well earned rest.
They had been sailing a great race, leading the fleet out west and had shown both their and the boats true potential.
On a brighter note Concise 2, sailed by Phillippa Hutton – Squire and Pip Hare are pressing on valiantly. Hopefully the next 24 hours will see them out of the current strong weather system and heading south in milder airs for warmer climates.
